A TRANSFORMATIVE DECISION IN MY REAL ESTATE JOURNEY

As someone who has been in the real estate industry for over five years now, working independently has shaped my approach to the business. My mission has always been to make sure my clients are extremely satisfied by my service and professionalism.

I remain guided by my slogan: “Authenticity in Every Deal, Wisdom in Every Choice, Efficiency in Every Step.” This encapsulates my dedication to helping clients navigate their real estate goals accompanied by someone they can trust.

Being an independent realtor has been an incredibly empowering experience for me. I’ve loved having the freedom to make my own business decisions. I have also appreciated the flexibility to set my own schedule, which has helped me maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Recently, a chance encounter changed my career direction. While attending a fitness class, I bumped into Mark Broady. He and his team are based in the same office as me at Royal LePage Village. After a friendly chat, he asked if I had ever considered the idea of working within a team. My response was: “It depends.” He then mentioned that he and his team were looking to add another broker, specifically someone with experience. I was intrigued, but hesitant. Could I really thrive within a team structure? The idea of having to adapt to a team’s dynamics made me worry about compromising my identity as a leader.

However, curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to meet with Mark and his team. From our first meeting, it was clear that we shared similar values. It was refreshing to see a team whose work ethic mirrored my own, emphasizing that success in real estate comes from genuinely caring for clients and creating long-term relationships.

Within the same week, another accomplished real estate team approached me for the same reason. I had recently completed a transaction with them where I had represented the buyer, and they had represented the seller. They were impressed with the way I showed the property, with how I negotiated the offer, and with my overall performance, and they wanted to discuss the possibility of me joining their team. Was this a sign? Was the universe trying to tell me something?

I met with both teams and took my time to carefully weigh my options. Needless to say, I feel I made the right choice. I was genuinely impressed by Team Broady’s meticulous approach to client interactions and their innovative marketing strategies. They also have full-time administrative support and a sales team who are always available to cover for you when needed. This is a significant advantage. In contrast, working independently often presents challenges, such as managing all aspects of the business alone, which can be overwhelming, especially during busy periods. As I learned more about their processes, it became clear why they have built such an esteemed reputation in the West Island’s competitive real estate market.

Being independent had its rewards, but also its limitations, particularly when it came to managing the demands of my growing client base. Team Broady’s approach offered a new perspective, one that combined the independence I cherished with a level of support I’d never experienced before. Joining Team Broady wasn’t just a career move; it was an opportunity to work with like-minded professionals who share my commitment to excellence and personal growth. Looking back, I realize that each chapter of my life has prepared me to embrace this new journey, whether through my business networks, my competitive spirit, or my dedication to building strong relationships.

Since 2020, I’ve been a member of Business Networking International (BNI) West Island Professionals, a group of exceptional entrepreneurs dedicated to helping each other grow our businesses. This involvement has given me access to an extensive network of contacts for my clients. In April 2024, I had the privilege of becoming president of our chapter, where I lead our meetings and initiatives. I was also honoured to receive the 2024 MVP award for my contributions to the group.

In addition to my professional endeavours, my competitive nature has been a driving force throughout my life, pushing me to excel in a variety of sports that have taught me valuable life lessons. I spent 12 years as a competitive/professional hip-hop dancer, where I developed a deep understanding of dedication and discipline that came with the countless hours of practice. I also spent 12 years training in competitive diving, where I had to overcome physical and mental challenges. Additionally, I spent 17 years playing intercity softball, with shortstop being my position, where I mastered the art of quick reflexes, strategic thinking, and teamwork. Through each of these experiences, I’ve learned that being competitive is not just about winning, but about constantly pushing my limits and aiming for gold in everything I do, whether in sports or in life.

Outside of my career and athletic pursuits, my love for animals and nature fuels my desire to spend time outdoors, where I find peace and inspiration in the beauty of the natural world. Whether practising hot yoga to centre myself, losing myself in a captivating book, or dancing my heart out, I continually seek to enrich my life with new experiences.

I am thrilled to be a part of Team Broady. I’ve hit the ground running and I am looking forward to what the future holds. Here’s to new beginnings!
