I have some exciting news
In November, I will be travelling to Ecuador for a 5-day, high-altitude trek to Cotopaxi, one of the world’s highest active volcanoes. It is going to be extremely physically demanding as I’ll be hiking approximately 20 kms a day at altitudes above 3,000 metres, reaching a maximum altitude of 4,000 metres above sea level.
I will be training hard over the next few months to prepare myself both mentally and physically for this challenge.
I am participating in this event to raise funds and awareness for the West Island Women's Shelter and the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation.
The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation has raised more than $38 million to support abused women and their children across Canada. Shelters across the country are reporting rising rates of domestic violence. Every step I take and every dollar I raise will help courageous women, with their children, escape abusive relationships and domestic violence.
I am covering all my own travel and trekking expenses, so all donations go directly to the cause.
I have set a fundraising goal of $7500. I hope you will consider donating to this important cause and help me surpass my goal!
